Hermitage Bay

Antigua
Dive into the beauty of the Caribbean with a stay at adult-only, all-suite, all-inclusive Antigua luxury hotel Hermitage Bay... which really does have it all!

Authentic, indulgent and award-winning, the hotel receives rave reviews from its guests who recognise it for its peaceful setting and personal service.

Set on a hillside above a sandy bay on a quiet corner of the island, Hermitage Bay has just 30 suites to ensure attention to detail remains high. Although children over the age of 14 are permitted to stay at the hotel, the nature of its vibe and setting mean it’s better suited for a luxury honeymoon or romantic holiday for adults.

The tropical gardens cascade down the hillside leading to the most exceptional beach with white sand and crystal clear turquoise waters. The Caribbean feel permeates throughout, with live steel-drum bands serenading evening meals and fresh coffee served among the almond trees each morning.

Hermitage Bay is leading Caribbean resort offering a 5-star, adult-only experience to remember for years to come.

Stay

Due to there being just 30 suites at the resort, it has a boutique-type feel. Four of these suites are dotted among the lush gardens, nine are at the beachfront, and then a further 17 have their own pool and are set on the hillside with views of the bay below.

Regardless of which you choose the luxuries as standard are top level; including your own balcony or terrace, a mini-bar restocked daily and champagne, fresh fruit and pastries on arrival.

Each suite has elegant interiors and an indoor-outdoor vibe, with natural materials and pops of Caribbean colours.

Eat

The inclusive dining at Hermitage Bay is truly outstanding and perfect for those who want to relax safe in the knowledge everything they’re experiencing has already been included in the cost of their holiday.

As standard, each guest receives breakfast, lunch and dinner from a menu that changes on a daily basis; snacks in the afternoon; canapés during the hotel’s cocktail hour; all beverages including house wines and fizz; as well as an in-room mini-bar which is replenished daily.

There’s an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients, whether from the organic kitchen garden on site or seafood from the waters surrounding the island, with specific dietary requirements catered for. During the evening dinner and dancing is accompanied by a live band.

Explore

It will take you just under nine hours to get to Antigua from London, with a 35 minute transfer from the international airport to Hermitage Bay.

The island, which is the largest of the Leeward Islands, has 365 beaches – one for every day of the year – and year-round high temperatures and sunshine.

The resort is on the south west of the island amid 140 acres, ensuring guests enjoy plenty of privacy and seclusion should they so wish.

Must-do island ventures include exploring Nelson’s Dockyard; walking to Shirley Heights for views of English Harbour; and sampling a traditional punch at a rum shack.

Why here?

The wellbeing facilities at Hermitage Bay include the tranquil Garden Spa with its treatments and rituals; meditation, yoga and Pilates classes (included with each stay); and a fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment.

There are golf and tennis facilities nearby, while the swimming pool is perfect for a dip or poolside sunbathe.

At the beach guests can enjoy as part of their all-inclusive package: snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing, paddle boarding, Sunfish and Hobie Cat sailing.

Authentic Caribbean experiences are very much part and parcel of a stay at Hermitage Bay: take a farm tour, watch a live cooking demonstration by a resort chef, or take to the seas surrounding the island for a spot of fishing.

Our take

Gain a unique perspective of Antigua with an underwater diving adventure organised by the resort. If you’ve never dived before there are Discover Scuba one-day courses to give you a taste of life below the surface. Think colourful reefs and myriad tropical fish.

If you love nature and immersing yourself in your holiday destination, ask the resort’s Concierge for their suggestions for local day trips, like Great Bird Island which has been turned into an incredible wildlife sanctuary where you can see the last of the Antiguan racer snakes.
