10 Reasons to Stay at Atlantis Dubai

More than just sun, sea and sand, this unique resort has everything within its 46 hectares for a dreamy Dubai holiday… as well as a few surprises too

Iconic Atlantis has been a key feature of the city’s landscape after opening its doors as the first resort on Dubai’s revolutionary man-made island, The Palm in 2008.

Since then it has been wowing its guests with its unique proposition. One that sees many visitors return time and again.

The Travel Seen team put together a few of the many reasons they think Atlantis Dubai is a world-class holiday spot. If you feel inspired after reading, give them a call for our latest Atlantis deals and offers.

1. Everything on site

Atlantis Dubai is the definition of what we call in travel a ‘fly and flop’ resort. After the speedy direct flight from the UK followed by a 45 minute transfer to the resort, there is absolutely everything you could need on site. Meaning there’s no need to worry about car hire or taxi fares. You can simply arrive, settle in and relax thanks to the beach, pools, waterpark, restaurants, shops and hundreds of other facilities and amenities within the Atlantis Dubai bounds.

2. Choice of 29 restaurants

And one of the key features of having everything on site is the 29 restaurants which mean guests can dine somewhere different for every meal without needing to leave The Palm. The breadth of choice is superb, ranging from three outlets by celebrity chefs - Nobu Matsuhisa, Giorgio Locatelli and Gordon Ramsay – to Dubai’s largest buffet at Asian restaurant Saffron.

3. Once in a lifetime experiences

Underwater yoga? Shaking fins with a dolphin? Feeding a shark its lunch? Or how about something a little less strenuous? Like dining on Nobu’s legendary miso-marinated black cod? Or getting your nails done at Dubai’s trendiest nail bar?

Atlantis has it all and more, making it the perfect spot to tick a few items from your bucket list while on holiday here.

4. A year-round destination

Much of Dubai’s appeal comes from the skies above it; filled year round with sunshine that warms its air and its waters.

While the peak times – like the Easter holidays, November half term and Christmas break – see comfortable temperatures, some are put off the hotter summer months when the mercury regularly rises over 35 degrees.

But Atlantis is a true year-round destination, with facilities in place to make even Dubai’s hottest days comfortable. There’s air conditioning in the rooms and restaurants. The largest waterpark in the world is on site to cool off. And there’s plenty to do indoors to get some relief from the midday sun; like wander around the aquarium, get competitive with a family game of bowling, or of course head to the spa for an award-winning treatment. Guests who really want to chill can even book a session in The Cold Room; a cryotherapy chamber.

5. The best brunch in Dubai

This sunny city is renowned for its epic brunches, laid on for residents and visitors to indulge their appetites to the max.

And at Atlantis there are four options for this weekend culinary treat.

For Dubai’s best party brunch we recommend Saffron, where well-known DJs and live performers add the energy to an afternoon of endless food and drink.

Al fresco fare, entertainment and interactive food stations make the Sunkissed Sunday Brunch at White a popular way to while away the weekend. Or go high-end with the Nobu Brunch, which can include champagne and the Michelin-starred chef’s signature dishes. Guests with kids should certainly book a table at the family brunch at Gordon Ramsey’s Bread Street Kitchen, offering cooking demos and activities alongside the endless selection of food.

6. Family-friendly facilities

And speaking of activities for kids, Atlantis, The Palm has really gone all out to make their younger guests feel like VIPs. In fact, that’s why many of the resort’s family guests return year after year, as the amenities for under 18’s grow with them. From babysitting and the Little Pirate Playground for preschoolers to the The Zone and wave rider for teens, the family-friendly facilities at Atlantis cover all age groups and interests.

7. The world-class spa

Like with everything at the resort, the award-winning ShuiQi Spa goes way beyond expectations. Yes there’s a sauna and steam room. You can relax with an aromatherapy massage or treat yourself to a facial. But there’s so much more than that too... like the Biohacking Orb, cryotherapy room, aesthetic clinic and the barbers where you can have a traditional Italian shave. Little wonder Atlantis has won so many titles over the years for its spa services.

8. A room with a view

As you’d expect from a resort of this size there is an accommodation option to suit all, with some 1,548 rooms and suites to pick from.

But for us the stand out feature of Atlantis is the view you can choose. The signature underwater suites have full floor-to-ceiling glass looking into the aquarium, so you can enjoy your morning cuppa in bed with a view of the sea life swimming past your window. Survey the city from your private terrace in a Skyline Suite. Or for a special occasion the Grand Atlantis Suite is the crème de la crème, featuring five balconies and an outdoor private Jacuzzi with near panoramic views of the Arabian Sea, Palm Island and Dubai skyline.

9. Romantic ideas for two

The resort is one of the favoured spots in the city for popping the question, as well as being a stop-off on route to the Maldives for many British honeymooners. Why? Well there’s the grown-up dining options followed by cocktails on the beach. Bath tubs in your suite big enough for two. Spa rooms designed for couples. And even a complimentary photo shoot to capture your Atlantis memories forever.

10. It’s celebrity approved

You’ll often see Atlantis Dubai in the press for hosting household names. We recently recommended it to Kimberley Walsh and her young family, who described it as “absolutely perfect” and “just amazing for kids”, with dinner at the White restaurant a favourite experience for Kimberley and her husband.
